{giveaway} KitchenAid Stand Mixer in Raspberry Ice

This past week has brought about more talk of cancer than I have ever discussed previously in my entire life.

It started when we celebrated with a family member who is in remission. Then, over the weekend we sat by the bed of another loved one who has undergone preventive surgery.

Lastly, it was only yesterday that we received news of another diagnosis in an immediate family member. That one hasn’t even begun to sink in yet.

We’ve all been touched by cancer in some way. Perhaps you’re standing with a dear one right now or in a battle of your own. It’s exhausting.

What to do? Certainly more than sink to the floor of the kitchen and stuff one’s face with baby animal crackers as I unashamedly did when I got the call.

I’ve had this giveaway planned for some time, only now it’s so very, very personal. Although the types of cancer we are dealing with are varied, breast cancer is one area where I had an opportunity to help. So I am.

With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Simple Bites is proud to promote KitchenAid Canada’s Cook For The Cure Program. And there’s a stand mixer to be won.

Now that puts a smile on my face today. Read on for details.

Also, for every purchase of a KitchenAid® pink small appliance or gadget, a contribution is remitted by KitchenAid® Canada to the Foundation.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I’ve partnered with KitchenAid Canada to bring you an amazing giveaway. One Simple Bites reader will win a KitchenAid Architect Series Stand Mixer with Glass Bowl in Raspberry Ice with an estimated retail value of $549.99!

We’re talking a 325-watt heavy duty motor, sturdy all-metal construction, and a 5-Quart designer glass bowl with pouring spout and contoured handle.

Attachments include a burnished dough hook, flat beater and stainless steel wire whip, and its tilt-head design allows for clear access to the beater and bowl. Love that.

  1. I’m not a big cook, but in the Fall I try to make time for some baked good with apples. My girlfriend’s family owns an apple orchard just outside of Montreal and she would love to be the receiver of this mixer!
    Thanks!

  2. I love to cook apple related recipes: butter, applesauce, apple pie… just to name a few.

  3. I saw your post on Instagram and I really hope that the surgery was a success. When I heard of my aunt’s leukemia diagnosis I too sank to the floor and cried harder than ever before. I am so lucky that she has been in remission for 8 years.

I am not sure if it would be of any help, but, in addition to all of the amazing resources and community created by CBCF, the Canadian Cancer Society has an amazing telephone resource for those fighting cancer and their support networks.

Sending lots of positive energy and prayers to you and your loved ones!

    Now onto the baked goods….
I love baking gluten free pumpkin muffins, pumpkin cheesecake and then a sweet apple crisp.

This giveaway is fantastic because it can help people feed healthy, home-coked food filled with TLC!

  6. My fave thing to bake in October has to have ginger! Either ginger snaps or a ginger snap that has dates, sesame seeds, coconut and ginger juice. They are soooo tasty! You can bake them or dehydrate them. I’m a big ginger fan but when our Calgary weTher cools I find I am wanting the tang and savoury joy from Ginger! 😉

  7. Ive been baking apple bies, apple crisps and pumpkin bars. Just tried pumpkin soup. So yummy!!
