Quite Possibly the Last Dessert Post You’ll Bookmark this Summer


Writing over at Simple Mom yesterday, I shared my latest sweet tooth trend with Crisp or Crumble? Baked Summer Desserts Defined. There has been an absolute line-up of simple baked fresh fruit desserts coming out of my kitchen since early June and there is no sign of them easing up anytime soon. Thank goodness for that because I think that cobblers, cakes and crisps are about the best way to showcase summer’s bounty with minimal effort.

  5. In France we're used to crumble, but we often limit it to apples, pears, or sometimes apples and berries, so most of the times it's more an automnal dessert. I guess the most popular summer dessert would be a pie (french type, so with a single crust, not double). I haven't had a cobbler yet, I should really try this!!

  6. This is my go to dessert when I have a casual dinner for a couple friends in the summer. If I get too far into the summer without making it, my husband always starts asking.

    oh yes, summer is definitely time for fruit and berry pies and tarts, as we'll finally have finnish strawberries in stores and the berry season is about start. although i'm more of a chocolate person when it come to baking, it feels a bit too heavy for the sunny and hot days. a yellow layer cake with blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and whipped cream is a summer tradition

  8. I did the cobbler with peach and cherries. It was all we could do to hold the three of us back from devouring the whole thing in one sitting. It also inspired us to go back to the store for more peaches and cherries and to get busy jamming. 7 batches later, we have cherry and peach jam covered. Now on to strawberry.
