Talking Jam on SimpleMom


I haven’t really been holding out on you, it’s just that I completely forgot to mention that I wrote a Jam Making 101-type of post over at SimpleMom last week.

It’s definitely the season for canning and preserving summer! If you’re dragging your feet at getting started, this post will reassure you that’s it’s not so complicated after all. I discuss Ingredients, Tools & Equipment, and a Basic Method for making jam.

  1. Already read Simple Mom!!! Was so excited to participate in the jam swap. This weekend I found that all my canning supplies were left behind in the last move. So sad…

  2. I haven't seen in my jam yet, only because I'm hoping to try one or two more before I decided which one (unless you change the rules and we can swap more than one:)… I'd read the post on Simple Mom, good job.

    I'm REALLY looking for a good, simple recipe with instructions for making your own cranberry sauce/jam for canning, hopefully I'll find something good by the time cranberries start showing up at the grocery.

  3. I made your lemon ricotta pancakes last night, only I used an orange for the zest and I used blended cottage cheese rather than ricotta. They were AMAZING!
    I'm not a jam maker yet… maybe next year 🙂
