Weekend Giveaway: Tattler Reusable Canning Lids

This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to our winner, Michele who said:

“Thanks for the tip on this great solution to the canning/BPA problem. I’d love to win this giveaway. Thanks!”

Thank you to all who entered and look for another chance to win more from Tattler in December.

On the heels of yesterday’s post on winter canning, I’m very pleased to offer you an opportunity to win a bundle of BPA-free reusable canning lids from Tattler!
Tattler is a US company that makes plastic, but BPA-free, reusable canning lids that are quickly being snapped up by professional and amateurs alike. Why, you may ask?

Tattler Lids are Green

Many people do not know that the flat metal lids that come in a box of jars are good for one batch of preserves and then should be discarded. We’re supposed to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, right?  Sure, standard lids are recyclable, but with Tattler lids, I use less, can reuse year after year AND they’re recyclable product.

Tattler Lids are BPA-Free

I only learned this summer that the flat metal lids contain Bisphenol-A. It was disheartening to think that in my efforts to remove BPA from my families food, my home canning projects were still tainted.  Not anymore.

Tattler Lids Save Money

I purchase new metal lids at the onset of every canning season – until now of course. With Tattler, I’m all set for many years to come since they have a lifetime guarantee!

Plus, Tattler lids can be used with all the same methods of food preservation that you would use a traditional lid such as pressure canner, water bath, and pickling.

Less waste, less money out of my pocket in the long run and better for my families health? Yep. Whether you are a confident canner or just a beginner, these lids are a highly recommended resource!

Stay connected with Tattler via their Facebook page and Twitter account, and stay tuned for more Tattler talk here on Simple Bites. I’m thrilled to have them as a sponsor and can’t wait to spread the word about their unique product.

Giveaway!

Thanks to the generous folks at Tattler, one winner will receive two dozen of each size, regular and wide mouth, reusable lids and reusable rubber rings. That’s a total of 48 Tattler lids and a valuable addition to your canning equipment.

To enter, simply leave a comment on this post. That’s it!

This giveaway will end at 11:59 on Sunday, November 28, 2010. Good luck to all!

These Sound Marvelous. we are at a campground south of Ft worth for the Holiday and they have 2 crab apple trees filled with beautiful red/peach crab apples just waiting to be made into apple jelly/jams! The campground hosts have told us we could pick what we wanted. Gave the kids all something to do for a day or two. These lids will be just the “cap” we need!
